At this year’s Effective Altruism Global X Berlin (EAGxBerlin), about 300 people – academics, professionals, and students alike – will gather in order to explore the most effective and evidence-based ways to improve the world. The conference will feature speakers from the effective altruism movement as well as professionals and researchers from relevant fields, with about 60% of the program in English, including most keynote presentations. Among others, we will discuss the following topics: – Global poverty, evidence-based development cooperation, and development economics – Animal ethics and animal advocacy – Opportunities and risks of emerging technologies – Ethics of career choice There will be introductory and advanced talks on each topic as well as interactive discussions. The conference is organized by the Effective Altruism Foundation.
