Christian is a research fellow in philosophy with the Global Priorities Institute at Oxford. Most of his research has to do with decision-making under risk or uncertainty — for instance, normative uncertainty, “Pascalian” risks (tiny probabilities of extreme outcomes), and epistemic aspects of long-termism (e.g. uncertainties involved in trying to influence the far future). He has also done work on infinite ethics, and has a side interest in the philosophy of time — specifically, whether it's rational to care more about the future than the past.
