David is a PhD student at the Paris School of Economics, under the supervision of Marc Gurgand. His research is focused on causal inference and applied econometrics. In particular, he empirically assesses the internal and external validity of methods of impact evaluation. He has previously worked for Giving What We Can, the Centre for Effective Altruism, Academics Stand Against Poverty, and the United Nations Development Program. He was a summer visitor at the Global Priorities Institute in 2019.

Before his PhD, he did a Master's in Public Policy and Development, also at the Paris School of Economics. His undergraduate degree was in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Warwick.
