Michael Plant is studying for a DPhil in Moral Philosophy at the University of Oxford. His primary focus is finding the most effective ways to increase world happiness; he works on population ethics, moral uncertainty and the value of saving lives too.

Michael is (or was) the founder of Hippo, a start-up building a happiness tracker-trainer app. After two years, he decided to stop work on it to concentrate on philosophy instead.

Michael's thesis is supervised by Hilary Greaves and Peter Singer; Michael is currently helping Peter Singer write a book on population growth.
