Seb is a DPhil student in Computer Science at the University of Oxford supervised by Yarin Gal.

He works on safe and secure machine learning and is part of the CDT for Cyber Security. He trys to apply a deeper understanding of pragmatic foundations of machine learning to safe and secure ML systems, mostly deep neural networks and Bayesian neural networks.

He formerly led the Global Priorities Project at the Centre for Effective Altruism and the Future of Humanity Institute. Before that, he worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co – where he served clients in a variety of public and social sector fields. Prior to that, he was on the team that set up 80,000 Hours.
